Anker Power Bank

Anker Power Bank, 20,000mAh Travel Essential Portable Charger with Built-in USB-C Cable, 3-Port 87W Max Fast Charging Battery Pack, for MacBook, iPhone 16/15 Series, Samsung, Switch, and More
The pick

I keep a power bank like this in my bag because I do not like being the person hunting for an outlet in the middle of a long day. This one makes the most sense for someone who carries a phone, a tablet, maybe a laptop, and wants one charger that can handle more than one kind of device without turning into a mess of separate cords and bricks. It also fits the kind of person who leaves the house early, gets home late, and does not always get to sit still long enough to top everything off at a wall outlet.

What I like most is that it feels practical instead of fussy. The built-in USB-C cable is the part I would point to first, because that is the thing that saves me from digging through a pocket or realizing I left the right cable on the kitchen counter. That little bit of convenience matters more than people think. The three-port layout gives you options when you need them, and the higher output is what makes this feel like a real travel charger instead of just a backup for a dead phone. It is the kind of power bank I would trust to cover a long commute, a travel day, or a weekend where I am away from a desk more than I am near one.

Who this is for: someone who is hard on their battery life and wants one charger that does not feel tiny or underpowered. It makes sense for students, people who work long shifts, frequent travelers, and anyone who keeps a phone and another device on them most of the time. If you only ever need a small emergency charge once in a while, this is probably more than you need. If you know the feeling of watching your battery slide down while you are still out in the world, this is the sort of thing that earns a place in your bag.

The thing I would change is the size. A 20,000mAh pack is never going to feel featherlight, and this one is no exception. It is the tradeoff you make for real capacity and stronger output, but it is still a brick compared with the little pocket chargers. I do not mind that in a backpack or travel bag, though I would not want to carry it in a jacket pocket all day. The built-in cable also helps and hurts a little. It is convenient, but it means you are always working with the cable that is attached, so if you like everything perfectly stowed and separate, that may take some getting used to.

I like that it solves a very specific problem without making me think too hard about it. When I am leaving the house with a phone that is already lower than I would like, I do not want to assemble a charging kit. I want to grab one thing, drop it in the bag, and know I am covered. That is what this does. It is also the sort of charger that makes sense on a trip because one battery pack can handle more than one device and does not force you to carry a bunch of extras for every stop along the way.

The finish and layout are what I would call sensible. It does not need to look fancy. It needs to sit in a bag, charge when I need it, and not become annoying after a few uses. The shape feels made for use, not display, which is exactly what I want from a portable charger. I also like that it is the sort of thing you can hand to someone else without explaining much. Plug it in, charge up, move on.

If you want a portable charger that feels ready for real travel, not just a quick phone top-off, this is a good one to look at. I would point it toward anyone who carries more than one device and hates being caught with a low battery at the wrong time. It does the job, it saves a little stress, and that is usually all I ask from this kind of thing.
